Shock-Absorbing Stirrups for Improved Comfort and Performance

Developed through the partnership between a showjumper and an engineer (Caroline and Laurent Bordes), Flex-on set about creating a solution for sore knees and ankles experienced by many riders on the competition circuit and the Flex-on Stirrup was born.

Designed from an organically sourced polyamide material with a single piece steel core, Flex-on Stirrups are durable and easy to clean.

Flex-on Stirrups use elastomer “springs”, which cushion and reduce the shock-waves generated by the horse’s movements.  This helps the rider’s stability and reduces pressure on the rider’s joints, helping to prevent injuries.  This unique, shock absorption technology is then combined with customisable design.

We aim to keep some popular colour/footbed combinations in stock at all times for fast dispatch but why not build your own bespoke design?

You can further personalise your Flex-On Stirrups with easy to change Flex-On Magnets (available to purchase separately).

STEP 1:  Choose your frame colour

White, Light Grey, Dark Grey, Black, Brown, Pink, Red, Orange, Green, Blue or Navy Blue

STEP 2:  Choose the colour of your shock absorbers

White, Light Grey, Black, Brown, Plum, Purple, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Light Blue, Blue or Navy Blue

STEP 3:  Choose the colour of your footbed

White, Light Grey or Black

STEP 4:  Choose your footbed type

Inclined Ultra Grip, Inclined, Flat Ultra Grip, Flat or Endurance

Inclined is the most popular footbed.  It helps riders keep their heels down and therefore helps to improve the rider’s balance and general position.  Flat is popular with dressage riders or those with very flexible ankles for whom an inclined footbed could push the leg too far forward.  The standard grip is simply ridged.  The Ultra Grip (UG) is ridged with metal spikes.  It is very hard wearing but can be removed and replaced in the event it does become worn.
